The emails that get you out
Some providers make leaving hard. These three ready-to-send emails — polite, then firm, then formal — help you cancel and get your prescription records, citing your legal rights. Free, private, no sign-up.
Everything you type stays on your device — nothing is stored, sent or seen by WeightMedsCompare. We keep only an anonymous count of which providers people are leaving and why. Privacy notice.
Your rights when leaving a weight-loss provider
You can change weight-loss medication provider whenever you like. You also have a legal right to a copy of your own records — including your prescription and dose history — under Article 15 of the UK GDPR, which any provider must supply within one calendar month, free of charge. Asking for your records "for continuity of care" makes clear why you need them.
What if my provider won't let me cancel?
Cancellation should be straightforward. If a provider won't confirm how to cancel, keeps taking payments, or won't release your records, the escalating emails above set out your position clearly and cite the regulators — the ICO for data rights, and the GPhC (for pharmacies) or CQC (for registered clinics) for conduct. Keep copies and note the dates.
Do I need my old prescription to switch?
Usually your current pen's dispensing label (showing your name, medicine and dose) is enough for a new provider's prescriber to continue you at your dose — see the Switch Toolkit. The records request is your backstop if you want the full history.
