Complaints policy

If something's wrong, we want to know. This page explains how to complain, what we'll do, how quickly, and where you can escalate if you're not satisfied.

Last updated: August 2026

Short version

  • Email us — we acknowledge within 3 working days and aim to respond fully within 14 days.
  • Every complaint gets a reference number and a named outcome: fixed, corrected, explained, or escalated.
  • If you're not satisfied, this page tells you exactly who to escalate to — including the regulators.

1. What you can complain to us about

We handle complaints about WeightMedsCompare itself: the accuracy of information on the site, our editorial content and guides, our free tools, how we've handled your data, our advertising and disclosures, and the behaviour of our service generally.

What we can't handle: complaints about a provider's own clinical service — their prescribing, treatment, delivery, fees or customer service. Your contract is with them, and complaints about them go first to the provider's own complaints procedure, then to their regulator: the General Pharmaceutical Council for pharmacies, or the Care Quality Commission for registered clinics. We're glad to point you at the right route if you're unsure — and if your complaint suggests our listing of that provider is inaccurate, we'll review the listing.

2. How to complain

Email hello@weightmedscompare.co.uk with "Complaint" in the subject line. Tell us what happened, when, and what outcome you're looking for. For complaints about how we've handled personal data, email privacy@weightmedscompare.co.uk instead.

3. What happens next

  • Within 3 working days: we acknowledge your complaint and give it a reference.
  • Within 14 days: we send a full response — what we found, and what we've done (corrected, fixed, explained, or why we disagree).
  • If it's genuinely complex and needs longer, we'll say so, explain why, and respond within 28 days at the latest.
  • We keep a record of complaints and outcomes so patterns get fixed, not just instances.

4. For providers: corrections and right of reply

If you are a listed provider and believe information about your service is inaccurate, use our listing, corrections & takedown policy — corrections requests are actioned on evidence, promptly. Where the site publishes customer-experience information about providers, we operate a right of reply: contact legal@weightmedscompare.co.uk and your response will be considered — and where appropriate reflected — before or alongside continued publication. Formal legal notices go to the same address.

5. Escalation — if you're not satisfied with our response

  • Data protection: the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113. Our ICO registration is ZC228906.
  • Advertising or promotional content on this site: the Advertising Standards Authority at asa.org.uk.
  • A provider's clinical service: the provider's own complaints procedure, then the GPhC (pharmacies) or CQC (registered clinics), as above.
